Last Embrace
This image of snakes wrapping around a man's torso came to mind after my boyfriend Christian Selway passed away from cancer in 2000. Snakes became my symbol of disease and illness - creeping slowly through the body, slowly strangling it - and because Christian's cancer was first diagnosed as a tumor in his spine, this imagery was very pertinent. I have a tattoo in the same spot of the zodiac symbol for Cancer (both his sign and mine) in the same spot encircled by two serpents.
