My Red Hot Exoskeleton

I think this is the kind of bug people picture when they think of strange tropical insects - I found this handsome fellow in Kolkata's Botanical Garden, near the great banyan tree. It looked so alien and unreal - a completely black shiny body with those incredible aqua wings and baby blue compound eyes. It was also a very compliant model and stayed still for me the whole time (with the exception of mildly curious antennae).
